Taxi-Mum Monday: Bonnie Hunt

For being the ultimate-90s movie mum, wanting to make iced-tea in Jumanji and saying "Boo, aah!" in Now and Then. I don't know about you but that's brightened up my rainy day.

Worst Mother's Day Present Ever

Primary school craft projects, aren't they great?
One year, I think it was grade 3, our craft project for Mother's Day was to cross stitch a tea-towel. Yes, a tea-towel. (I don't recall anyone batting an eyelid that we were giving our mothers tea-towels as gifts.) Anyway, this is what the finished tea-towel should have looked like (thanks to my brilliant Photoshop skills): For those of us who didn't think we had enough time or skill for that, there was this option:
This is what my mum got:
She finished it herself a few years later.

Taxi-Mum Monday: Meryl Streep

"You listen to me, you little idiot! I'm not bullshitting you about the Gauntlet. It's big. Bigger than anything you've ever seen. And tomorrow, you're gonna drown in it. And the rest of us are gonna be hauled under with the raft. I'm not gonna pretend that I give a shit about you and your stupid friend.. and your pathetic small-time nothing life! But I got everything I care about in the world in this boat. And I got my baby girl waiting at the other end. And I know I cannot do this! I cannot row this big water, man! That's the truth. I cannot do it!"

I've hit the big time

I bought a Twirl on Saturday on my lunch break. I don't normally buy Twirls but I really felt like one. The craving paid off big time. Cadbury are running a 'Score a Freebie' promotion where '1 in 5 WINS' (not 'wins' but 'WINS') a free bar. To my delight I found this on the inside of the wrapper:

I redeemed my free Twirl on Sunday and once again won, or as Cadbury would write WON, a free Twirl. This has also happened to another person at work. I'm starting to think we got the motherload box of winning Twirls.
I plan to try my luck and go for a third free Twirl when I'm back at work on Thursday. I'll keep you posted.
